AudioGameAccess, the changes
The versions go from the newest to the oldest. Each heading is a version: move from one to the next with your screen reader's heading keys.
1.90
- New game, in the puzzle games: Hangman, alone offline and online at the casino, alone or up to 8. Find the word letter by letter before the man is hanged; accents are confused, and each letter found is said as it is written. Thousands of words, in French and English, on 5 levels. Left Arrow and Right Arrow go through the word, Enter guesses a letter, Control+Enter the whole word, I gives a hint for an error. Online, five ways to play: one word for the table in turns or first come, each their own word with the same time or first come, and the word chosen by a player. Sounds chosen for the game: the gallows, the rope, the groaning hanged man. Offline and online leaderboards. F1 opens its manual.
- New game, among the card games: President, for 4 to 7 players, offline against bots and online at the casino. Get rid of your cards first to become President; the last one is the Scum, and they swap cards in the next round. Up Arrow and Down Arrow go through your hand, Left Arrow and Right Arrow choose how many cards to play when you lead, Enter plays, P passes. The game options: the end of a trick, who starts the first round, the revolution and the time to act. F1 opens its manual.
- Card and casino games: an information key cuts the speech and Frankie, but never the sound of the cards and chips any more.
- Q during a game: the question no longer starts the menu's music, the room goes on, and Frankie says goodbye in the room.
- Blackjack, reviewed whole:
- S says everyone's right balance, online and offline, and your balance after a hand is the right one.
- Online, Control+S tells you there is no saving at the blackjack, instead of doing nothing.
- After a card, your hand and your turn are no longer repeated. The insurance question is no longer lost, and closes if the table moves on.
- A player who arrives during the bets can bet at once; even money taken is paid at once; a 21 in two cards after a split stands by itself.
- New option, the time to act, at the table's menu: offline, no limit by default; online, 30 seconds by default, as the table's creator chooses.
- A saved table keeps its bots, and leaving with Q updates it.
- Archery:
- Less reverberation in the arena.
- The crowd is in the stands on your left and your right, never in front of you. It reacts to each arrow as a real crowd: it applauds by the points, says "ooh" at a weak or missed arrow, applauds an end made and says "ooh" at an elimination, even on a 10. It no longer boos.
- The aiming tone is pure, without 3D sound, quieter, and no longer crackles.
- Sound: most sound cards keep a little more margin, against the light crackles now and then. The delay grows by 10 milliseconds: run the latency test of the main menu again, above all for archery.
- Voice chat: the volume you give a person, and their mute, are kept; you find them again at every table where you meet them.
- Settings, General tab: Export the settings and Import settings. All your settings, your games' options and each voice's volume, in a file to take to another computer; only the sound card and the microphone stay each computer's own.
- Menus: new, shorter sounds for Up Arrow and Down Arrow.
1.88
- Online poker: the game no longer gets stuck at the first move. If the server does not answer a move, the table gives you your turn back and says it again, instead of waiting.
1.87
- Poker is now played online too, with others, at the casino: Online games, Create a table, Casino games, Poker Texas Hold'em. The server deals and referees; the table's administrator chooses the options, can pause the whole table, save the game and stop it. A lost connection keeps your seat for a minute. The poker manual explains it all, with F1.
1.86
- Animal Escape is now called Feather Flight, and becomes our own game. A hen got away from the truck of Marcel the farmer: make her run as far as you can across meadows, roads and railways, listening to the cars, trucks, trains, trees and gold coins around her. F1 during the game opens its manual. Shift+F1 says the instructions, then plays every sound of the game after its name, the game waiting.
- Mac: with a keyboard other than the US one (AZERTY, for instance), letters now work as they are printed: M in the voice chat, Q to leave the table, and the others. A key with nothing to do in the game no longer makes the Mac's error sound.
- The game is much lighter to download: all its sounds are now in Ogg, 30 MB instead of 67.
1.85
- New game, among the casino games: Poker Texas Hold'em. A tournament at a table of ten seats, against one to nine bots, offline for now. Frankie, the dealer, calls and comments on the game, in French with his own voice and in English. The chips, the cards and each player are heard from their place. F1 at the table or during the game opens its manual, with all the rules and keys.
- Before starting, Game options: the starting stack and blind, typed, how often the blinds go up, the betting limit (no limit, fixed limit, pot, half-pot, or a number of big blinds), the number of raises a round and the time to act. Confirm keeps them for your next tables.
- On your turn: C check or call, R bet or raise by typing the number of chips, F fold, A all-in. At any time, keys tell you your cards, the table, the pot, what calling costs, your chips and the others', the blinds and their next rise. X stops the game in progress.
- Your tournament saves itself between hands: closing AudioGameAccess no longer loses it. Control+S and Q keep it too, even in the middle of a hand.
- The table's administrator is now said with W, in every game, online and offline.
1.84
- New game, among the skill games: Animal Escape. A hen got away from Joe's truck: make her run as far as you can across grass, roads and railways, listening to the cars, trucks, trains, trees and gold coins around her. It comes from Audio Game Hub 2 on iPhone. F1 during the game opens its manual.
1.83
- In the main menu, "Play online" is now called Online games, just below Offline games.
1.82
- The blackjack now has its manual, with F1 during the game or at its table: the rules, the keys, offline and online play, and Frankie.
- T now says "It's your turn." when it is yours at the blackjack, and "It's your turn, arrow 1." at the archery.
- Offline, a saved table stays the same one: after Control+S, your table becomes that saved table, and saving it again updates the same one instead of making a copy.
- The game is lighter to download: Frankie's voice, in French and English, now takes 9 MB instead of 32. His lines also start a little faster.
- Blackjack: Frankie welcomes you according to the case. Your very first game or a return, in the morning, the afternoon, the evening or the night; a saved table taken up again, without "New game"; online, a hand already going on, where you will play the next one.
- Blackjack: Frankie no longer says "Twenty-two, not the right number" when you bust at another total than 22, nor "an ace and a face card" when your blackjack is made with a ten.
- New History view, on Control+5: everything the game told you, the newest at the bottom, with a heading per game, per hand and per message, to move through it quickly with your screen reader's 1, 2 and 3. Each line ends with its time, minutes and seconds included. You always arrive on the last message. In the main menu, Save the history writes it as a web page, where you choose.
- The sound at the start and the end of a list is now higher and shorter, lighter to hear.
- Blackjack: your cards are now said one by one. 1, 2, 3 and so on say your first, second, third card; G says only your total. With Shift, the dealer's cards and total; his hidden card stays "Hidden card" until he turns it. After a split, it is the hand you are playing. Your balance moves to V, and the whole table to Shift+T. The keypad works too.
- Blackjack: hold Shift+Up arrow or Shift+Down arrow to raise or lower the bet quickly, offline as online. At the most or the least, the game says so only once.
- The "Games" menu becomes Offline games, organised as "Play online": Create a table, then the category and the game; Saved tables, then the category, the game and your tables, only where there are some. A game left halfway through is found in the Saved tables, in place of "Continue". Your best scores are in your offline leaderboards.
- Offline, at the blackjack as at the archery, the tables now look exactly as at the casino. In Offline games: Create a table and Saved tables. The table says "Table created by You, Blackjack. 1 of 7 players." (your name, if you are logged in to the casino), with Start the game, Players at the table and Leave the table; B seats a bot, Shift+B sends one away. At the blackjack, Control+S between two hands saves the table, with its bots, their chips and its shoe. In Saved tables, Enter sits you at the table again, then Resume the game; Delete removes it. Your balance is the same at every table.
- Blackjack: when you leave the table, with Q, Control+S or the pause, Frankie says goodbye before you go, offline as online.
- Blackjack, in French: when you lose a hand, Frankie has new sentences, kinder and complete.
- Blackjack: Frankie no longer says "En tête-à-tête" in French. When you are alone at the table, he lets you know another way, such as "Toute la table est à vous".
1.81
- Everywhere, Shift+F5 goes through the volumes the other way, to come back without going all the way round.
- The dealers' volume is now 60% by default; if you had set it yourself, your choice is kept.
- Blackjack: Frankie now speaks French when the game is in French, with a Québécois voice: the bets, the cards, each seat's turn, the decisions and the results.
- Online blackjack: the count of the last 5 seconds now follows the clock, one number each second, and starts at the right number even when your turn comes late.
- Blackjack: Frankie no longer says "dealer stands on 17" when you arrive at the table; he says it when he really stands on 17.
- Blackjack, in French: Frankie now has his personality. He welcomes you at the table, remarks on your blackjacks, your big wins, the pushes, your winning or losing streaks, the shuffle and the chips offered, and hurries you a little when your turn drags online.
- Blackjack: when Frankie says several things in a row, he now leaves half a second between each, to speak more naturally. His cards are still said in one go, as "Queen of spades".
1.80
- The ambience now has its own volume, separate from the effects, in the Settings and with F5. You can mute the casino's ambience without muting the cards and the chips. Your former setting is kept: the ambience takes the level you were hearing.
- The blackjack is now identical offline and online: the same announcements, the same course of a hand and the same words from Frankie. Offline, the dealer always turns his hole card, even after your blackjack or a surrender. Even money is paid with the results, and T says whose turn it is. Online, the dealer no longer draws when only blackjacks are left to beat, and a refused split gives its exact reason.
- Offline archery is now exactly the casino's game, with up to seven bots: B adds one, Shift+B removes one, at your table before the game. The same announcements, the same eliminations, the table's ranking, then your place in your offline leaderboards. T, S and Control+S work offline too. Alone, without bots, you play as before. A solo game started before this version cannot be picked up again: it starts over.
- Saved tables offline, as at the casino: Control+S puts your archery game among your table's Saved tables. Enter picks it up with its bots, Delete removes it after confirming. Continue still picks up the game you left.
- Offline blackjack: T says whose turn it is as the announcements go, yours, a bot's, or that the bets are open.
- Blackjack: when a hand won gives you your best balance of the week, the game tells you your place, this week and of all time, offline as online. Offline, this record is kept in your leaderboards at each hand.
1.79
- The dealers' volume is now fully independent: lowering or muting the effects and ambience no longer mutes Frankie. Each volume sets only its own category.
1.78
- When you come back to the window, the clock's ticking stops at once, so that you hear your screen reader.
- Blackjack: a bet is heard by its size. One chip for a small bet, a cascade of chips for a bigger one, and the sound of a stack from 200 chips up. It is also louder than before, for you as for the other players and the bots.
1.77
- As soon as you play, the time alert stops dead, even in the middle of Frankie's count.
1.76
- A new alert when your turn has a time limit, online at the blackjack and the archery: 10 seconds before the end, the game says the time left, then counts the last 5 seconds, with beeps or with Frankie at the blackjack. If you are in another window, an old clock ticks 3 seconds before, and the game tells you it is your turn.
1.75
- Frankie varies his words more: 113 expressions instead of 89. He notices a pair dealt, aces, a face card, the black jack of a blackjack, a bet played again with Space, and he teases the losers a little. After six hands won in a row, he pretends to bar you from the casino.
1.74
- Frankie no longer distorts: the peaks of his voice are now smoothed gently instead of being clipped. The dealers' volume is now 130% by default; if you had set it yourself, your choice is kept.
1.73
- Frankie's voice is back at the level of 1.71, without the distortion of 1.72, and keeps its highs. The dealers' volume is now 120% by default; if you had already changed it, your setting is kept.
1.72
- Frankie's voice has even more highs, +12 dB from 6,000 Hz up, and it is louder, up to the most possible without clipping.
1.71
- Frankie's voice is clearer: his highs are raised by 6 dB from 6,000 Hz up.
1.70
- Frankie's voice is louder still, as loud as a synthetic voice, and he is a little closer to you. A limiter holds the peaks of his voice, so it never clips.
1.69
- A new volume for the dealers, in the Settings and with F5, from 0 to 200%. It also follows the effects' volume and uses the same output.
- Frankie's voice is louder, to come through above the casino's ambience.
1.68
- When an administrator comes to a table, they are announced as such, for example "Lee, administrator, joins the table". Administrators can enter private tables, for moderation.
1.67
- Blackjack: Frankie, the dealer, now has his voice, in English to begin with. He calls the bets, his own cards, each seat's turn, the decisions, the blackjacks, the busts and the results, with a few Las Vegas dealer expressions. He speaks before the screen reader, never at the same time, and the screen reader always says the detail.
1.66
- Offline blackjack: up to six bots can sit at your table. B adds one, Shift+B removes one, between hands. They bet, play the basic strategy and are paid like you, and they are heard from their seat. You play first. 4 says the whole table, S everyone's balance. The bots stay at the table from one time to the next.
- Q also quits an offline game, after confirming, and goes back to the game's menu.
- An audio output chosen in the Settings that runs at another rate than the default card gets a wider margin, against crackles. The
audio.txt file also describes the new card after each change.
1.65
- After an update, the game window comes back in front and the screen reader finds it at once, without going through the desktop.
1.64
- At the first install, you can choose the install folder. The folder offered is
C:\Program Files\AudioGameAccess. Updates keep the chosen folder.
1.63
- AudioGameAccess is now installed in
C:\Program Files\AudioGameAccess, like other programs. The old copy in your personal folder is removed by itself; your settings, your account and your games are kept.
- Windows asks for your consent at each install and each update.
1.62
- Blackjack, third step: play online, up to seven at the table, with bots if you like. The dealer deals to everyone, and each plays their hand in turn, within 30 seconds. The others are heard from their place around the table. 4 says all the hands, T whose turn it is, S the players' balances, R the hand number. Your online balance is kept by the server.
- New leaderboard: the blackjack fortune, the biggest balance reached.
- For testing, the casino gives you 1,000 chips again each time you run out, without waiting for the next day.
1.61
- Blackjack, second step: the full Las Vegas rules. P splits two cards of the same value, up to four hands, and you can double after a split. A surrenders the hand for half the bet. When the dealer shows an ace, you are offered insurance, or even money if you have blackjack.
1.60
- The installer is light again: 1.59 contained unneeded files by mistake.
1.59
- New game: blackjack, in the casino games. First step: alone against the dealer, with the Las Vegas rules, betting, hit, stand and double down. Your chip balance is kept from one time to the next, and the casino gives you 1,000 chips once a day if you run dry.
- During blackjack: Shift+Up arrow and Shift+Down arrow for the bet, Enter to play, Space to hit, Enter to stand, D to double down, and 1, 2, 3 for your hand, the dealer's and your balance.
1.58
- The manuals: F1 opens the AudioGameAccess manual in your browser, or, during a game, the game's. Control+F1 opens this list of the changes. In English and in French.
- The instructions of the moment, spoken without leaving the game, move to Shift+F1. In a Yes or No question, F1 still says the question again.
1.57
- A single archery in the menus: when you choose it, you choose its level, Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced. The same to create a table.
1.56
- Archery: three levels, with a smaller and smaller target. Each level has its game, its high score and its leaderboards.
- The tournament now has 16 ends, up to 30 points at the final, three times the X. The target speeds up more gradually, and the hand's small unforeseeable movement when you release is much smaller: your skill decides.
1.55
- Archery is now played in Las Vegas, at the Grand Tournament, inspired by the biggest indoor tournament in the world. You shoot in ends, and the centre of the target is the X.
- The sounds resonate as in a big arena.
- When an archer wins the tournament, whoever they are, bots included, the whole arena cheers around you.
1.54
- Voice chat: when you change a volume with Shift+Up arrow or Shift+Down arrow, you only hear the new value.
1.53
- The voice chat no longer resonates with the game's sounds: voices stay clear.
1.52
- A more realistic and quieter forest resonance for archery.
1.51
- The forest's resonance is quieter, and the aiming tone never resonates any more.
1.50
- Archery resonates as in a forest.
- Distance: a player far from you sounds fainter and softer, for their sounds as for their voice.
- Messages: each contact says whether they are online or offline.
1.49
- At a table, the other players are now all around you, behind you too. During archery, the archers stay side by side from left to right, and spectators are behind you.
1.48
- Each player keeps the same place for the whole game, for their arrows as for their voice. Before, a player who was out could move the others.
- R says the end going on.
1.47
- Offline, Messages, the voice chat and Friends stay closed, and a sentence says how to log in.
1.46
- Archery: no more tutorial. The game is the same offline and online, and what was said alone is said online too.
1.45
- Games are sorted by category, in Games as to create a table. Archery is in the skill games.
1.44
- The welcome music plays quieter: 35% by default.
1.43
- Creating a table no longer asks for the number of players: up to 8, and 2 to start. Before the game, anyone who arrives sits as a player.
1.42
- Spectators hear the voice chat and speak in it.
1.41
- Q leaves the table, with a confirmation during a game.
1.40
- The stream player also plays AAC radios.
1.39
- A table's creator can share a radio with the whole table.
1.38
- The stream player: listen to an Internet radio while you play, with Control+P. Control+Shift+P says the title. The last 50 radios are kept. The stream has its own volume and output.
1.37
- When a table's creator leaves, the first player who arrived takes their place. C says who the creator is.
1.36
- Spectators, with Control+E. The creator can ban a player from their table. A saved table keeps its rules.
1.35
- Private tables without a code: a table is created public, and its creator makes it private with Control+H.
1.34
- Privacy: five settings, to choose who can write to you, invite you, join your tables, and who is told of your arrivals and your tables.
1.33
- On Windows, each category of sound can go to its own sound card.
1.32
- Values change everywhere with Shift+Up arrow and Shift+Down arrow.
1.26 to 1.31
- Several fixes for JAWS: a held Space bar is no longer repeated, no more "unavailable", and phrases are no longer said twice.
- Sound settings: the notifications' volume, one volume for effects and ambience, the microphone with its device, channel and volume, F5 on every volume, and "All voices" in the voice chat.
1.23 to 1.25
- Braille: the line you are on stays shown, and every phrase of the game is shown there.
- The game is now downloaded from our own server.
1.15 to 1.22
- Settings in three tabs, volumes in percent, a confirmation before quitting, a maximized window and restoring the default settings.
- Each volume slider describes its keys.
1.14
- A lost connection keeps your seat at the table for a minute, and the game reconnects by itself.
1.12
- Several improvements to the security and the robustness of online play.
1.10 and 1.11
- A login name that never changes, and a display name that can change once a day, in My account.
1.09
- Each player's line says where you stand with them: friend, not a friend, request sent, request received.
1.04 to 1.08
- One voice at a time when changing views, never a silent Enter offline, and each setting named by its label.
1.03
- Friends, with Control+4: requests, accepting, declining, and where each friend is.
1.01 and 1.02
- Automatic updates at start.
1.00
- The first version of AudioGameAccess, with archery, alone or online at the casino.
